Eccleston to play Destro in new G.I Joe movie. David Murray, who was originally cast for the part has dropped out after being unable to get a work VISA. Chris has apparently been given the role instead.

Dark is Rising has was released and seems to have picked up varying reviews. It was taken off my local cinema merely two weeks after opening, and I only just managed to see the final showing.

You can find a review over at the forum. Upon DVD release a more comprehensive review shall be produced for the main site.

Christopher Eccleston will be reading poetry along with Francesca Annis, Simon Armitage and Tom Paulin for the Ted Hughs letters on the 29th November. This is to mark the publication of 'The Letters of Ted Hughes,' 50 years ago.

For information on booking tickets check out Southbank Center.

‘New Orleans, Mon Amour’ has yet to receive a release date, but is now in Post Production.

Trailers for ‘New Orleans, Mon Amour’ can be found on youtube.

Angry Sexy and working class, a radio documentary on radio two. Its a four parter starts Friday 22nd June at 7pm.

It says the following in my tv guide:

Christopher Eccleston presents a four-part series, looking at the development of working class heroes and anti-heroes in British films in the fifties and sixties. Those decades were a golden-age of `kitchen sink` dramas and rebellion against the establishment, with characters such as Arthur Seaton (played by Albert finney in the 1960s film Saturday Night Sunday Morning) who exhorted audiences "Don`t let the b******* grind you down"

It seems Chris is back in Britain to run in the BUPA Great Manchester Run. As usual, he is running for Leukaemia Research with the Banana Army.

The Dark is Rising, Chris's new film, based on a series of books of the same name, will be released in Britain on the 12th October 2007, and in the US on the 28th September 2007. In this film, Chris plays the character the Rider. However I strive not to give away any plot, but there is much discussion on the forum.

Heroes will also be airing soon in the UK, on the BBC, once showing has completed in America. I have managed to see all of the current episodes of this show, and though Chris is only in a few later episodes of series 1, it is an excellent show, and is well worth a look. Whether he has been signed for series 2 is still under debate. However, spoilers seems to indicate there will be some study of his character later in series 2, so he may pop up again.

Chris has also been connected with TV drama Zodiac Arrest (not to be confused with film Zodiac) created by the same people who brought us Perfect Parents. Hopefully this is true as Perfect Parents was, in my opinion, brilliant.

Quick update before Christmas…

Seems Chris disappeared to LA briefly to film parts of American Sci fi series ‘Heroes’. He appears as a regular character who can become invisible at will. For more information on the series go to the Official NBC Webpage. Apparently the show has already been running in America for some time, and follows a group of people who have developed certain powers and sees how they deal with this.

Also a quick reminder that 'Perfect Parents', the thriller starring Christopher Eccleston, a father who sends his daughter to a Roman Catholic school despite being non-religious, is showing on ITV1 at 9pm on 28th December 2006. Remember to tune in!

And remember to enjoy the Winter Holidays!

Recently Chris was spotted in America, New Orleans to be exact, filming an independent movie. Whether or not this movie will be shown in Britain is yet to be seen, or even what it is about. As always I suggest you keep your eyes and ears open and we will update you as soon as possible. For an account from the person who made the sighting, and a few photos from filming visit Myspace Blog

Once again, there has been a lengthy space between updates. Not a lot has occurred during this space of time.

Rumours of Chris appearing in the new version of ‘The Prisoner’ were received with great anticipation, but have been shot down by Chris’s ‘people’. The show originally shown in the 1967 starred Patrick McGoohan, is being revamped by Granada to be shown on Sky later next year. Though Chris was supposedly in final talks to take on the starring role as Number 6, it seems these rumours are untrue. However I look forward to seeing this show none the less.

Chris has appeared in a theatre rendition of the classic Shakespearean play, Romeo and Juliet. This version however was slightly different as the cast were part of the Celebrity Pig theatre, which consist of actors with learning difficulties. Chris who is well known for his work with Mencap appeared as a narrator.

More news on Chris's up and coming drama. He plays in thriller 'Perfect Parents' written by Doctor Who director Joe Ahearne, in which he plays the father of a child who he sends to Catholic School despite not caring about religion. For more information, and a rather nice picture, go to The Stage Online site

Apologies for not updating sooner… university and all sorts.

Anyhow, seems it hasn’t been all that quiet lately. It seems many a rumour have been released, Chris doing a film length drama for ITV with Susannah Harker. Chris to start filming some new drama in April… whether this is the same drama it is yet to be seen, and another in June. He has been nominated for a number of awards for his part in doctor who, and whilst on the subject of doctor who, the new series (without Chris) starts on 15th April. He was the voice on several programs on recently, but as they have gone it is barely worth mentioning.

Sadly the Comedy Theatre in London has said that the 'The School of Night' production has been cancelled. As yet no reason for the cancellation has been given. We understand that Ticketmaster will be issuing automatic refunds but if you have already booked tickets it may be wise to get in contact with them.

20/12/2005

Taken directly from the news page of the Outpost Gallifrey (thanks, OG!):

"Christopher Eccleston, last seen as the Doctor in June, has what appears to be a new long-term job: he is to star as Christopher 'Kit' Marlow in "The School of Night" by Peter Whelan, an historical whodunit set in 1592 in which Marlowe, fresh from the success of Doctor Faustus, encounters William Shakespeare. It will play at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from 16 February and, assuming it is a success, Eccleston is committed to at least 22 weeks. (Thanks to Dominic May)"

Chris disapears off the radar for an age, when I need to take a fortnight out to revive my dying computer, he’s into everything. I don’t know…

Anyway, it seems Chris has been in Indonesia with the Red Cross to see how the people are recovering from the tsunami last year. Its nice to see that things are moving forwards, slowly, but at least forwards. I am too late to prewarn you of the documentary he did for BBC Breakfast, but you can find them on the BBC Breakfast website. I’m also looking into getting hold of his interviews from this morning to add to the video section in the features page. Keep your eyes open.

A letter found on ChristopherEccleston.info from John Hooper at Leukaemia Research.

Dear Carolyne and fellow Chris Eccleston fans,

Both myself and Chris would like to thank everyone who supported his efforts in this year's BUPA Great North Run on behalf of Leukaemia Research. Chris managed to suprise himself and gained a new personal best finishing in 1hr 27:19 - knocking around 15 minutes off his previous best! He came in in 354th place out of a total field of 50,000 - which is absolutely amazing! More importantly however, you all helped raise an outstanding ?3,126.54 for research into leukaemia and other blood related cancers - thank you for your generosity.

Chris will now be taking part in his next event, the BUPA Great South
Run on 9th October in Portsmouth.

Once again, thank you for all your support.

Kind regards,

John Hooper

Congrats to Chris who ran the Great North Run in an impressive time of one hour twenty seven minutes. Very well done. If my sources are correct, it means he was the fastest celeb doing the run. Makes you proud doesn't it. Shame there was no interview though, but I guess we can't have everything. Keep up the good work Chris!

13/09/2005

So what does Chris think about the Great North Run? He speaks to the Sunderland Echo. Though please guys, spell his name right!

Extract from the Sunderland Echo
“Among the famous faces taking part this year is former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston. The actor, who ran his first Great North Run in 1993, and again in 1998, is back for more punishment this year. He said: "I love it when you see people flagging and other runners going past them giving them a pat on the back to encourage them. It's not really a race in that sense. Everybody is in it together."”

Also it seems Chris may do an interview for the Great North Run, so make sure you tune in. That is if whatever is happening regarding the crash of the site is cleared up. Hope it’s nothing too serious.

06/09/2005

Congratulations to Chris who won the best actor ward in the TV Choice awards. Its about time he got recognised for the amazing actor that he is. It's a shame he only sent a video acceptance.

Extract from the Mirror
An insider said: "It was a real shame he didn't come but we weren't entirely surprised. Given the way he quit the role it would have been odd for him to celebrate it a few months later."

Well done Chris and keep up the good work!

Those who haven't yet sponsored Chris, it seems the website is down. Still feel free to make a donation straight to the charity.

03/09/2005

Chris has not only reached his target, but crashed through it. Keep the money rolling in! Check out his progress on his Just Giving account.

Chris has pledged his allegiance to the campaign to restore Victoria baths in Manchester. The project has been given £3.5 million, but needs a further £16.5 million to become possible. He says it reminds him of his youth, and that he would like the local children to be able to swim there again.

12/08/2005
It seems Chris may have been offered a role in the film version of GP Taylor's Shadowmancer. According to The Sunday Herald, Smallville creator Tim McCanlies is to direct the movie version. Taylor said he hoped that Ewan McGregor and Michael Caine will take the lead roles but that Chris has already been offered a part.

The campaign to get Chris to take the role of Joker in the next Batman Film has grown in size. Let's just hope he doesn't feel too pressured by his fans to take a part that maybe he wouldn't normally do and wouldn't feel happy doing. Lachy Hulme and Paul Bettany are also in the running.

Part two of the House of the Obsessive Compulsives was on Channel Four on Monday. Hope you watched. Touching stuff it really was.

01/08/2005
Did everyone miss The house of Obsessive Compulsives on Channel Four today at 9.00pm. I nearly did, but didn't. Chris did the voice over, and a very good one at that! Never fear, the second part is next Monday, same time, same place.

'Gone In 60 Seconds' is on ITV1 tonight at 10:15. It is not advertised in the teleguides, but it is on. Chris appears as the bad guy if I remember the film correctly.

It is also rumoured that he will appear as a guest presenter on Saturday mornings children show on BBC. However, i stress this is a rumour, but you may want to tune in just in case. Enjoy the cartoons!

08/07/2005
Before Doctor Who, Christopher Eccleston appeared in a radio play called "Room of Leaves." Find it on Radio 7 website. It was aired on 5th July at 1pm.

Make sure you all vote in the NTA. Chris is up against Peter Davidson. It's about time he won something!

Extract from the SUN 5 July 2005

"Meanwhile the Best Actor category is also being hotly contested. It’s the war of the Doctor Whos as past and present actors of the sci-fi drama go head to head. Christopher Eccleston is nominated for Best Actor for his performance as the latest Time-lord on the BBC classic. But former Doctor Peter Davison is also up in the same category — for his role in Distant Shores."

Christopher Eccleston has given his first interview since handing the keys of the tardis over to David Tennant.

Speaking at a Mencap charity do, the actor told Newsbeat that finishing 'Dr Who' was a relief after dealing with the BBC, but he still got something special out of it:

"The best thing about 'Doctor Who' for me has been the response I've had from children, both in the street and the number of letters and drawings of me and daleks, which are all over my wall at home."

"In all the 20 years I've been acting, I've never enjoyed a response so much as the one I've had from children and I'm carrying that in my heart forever."

    Awwww, bless him!
